Germination Percentage Formula

Germination % = (germinated seeds / total seeds tested) × 100

Speed of Germination (Mean Germination Time)

MGT = Σ(Tᵢ × nᵢ) / Σnᵢ

Tᵢ = time of germination (days); nᵢ = number of seeds germinating at time Tᵢ. Lower MGT = faster germination = better seed quality.

Germination Value (GV)
