How It Works

The formula: bars = PSI ÷ 14.5038 (or PSI × 0.0689476). This derives from 1 bar = 100,000 Pa and 1 PSI ≈ 6,894.757 Pa.

For millibars: mbar = bars × 1,000.

Reference values: 14.696 PSI = 1.01325 bar (1 atm), 1 PSI = 0.06895 bar = 68.95 mbar, 100 PSI = 6.895 bar. Bicycle tires typically run at 80–130 PSI (5.5–9.0 bar).
